Neurosurgeon, Former Republican Candidate for U.S. Presidency

Undergraduate Education: Psychology
Graduate Education: Medicine

Carson, the future neurosurgeon, was ironically a weak student growing up. In grade five it is said that he was at the bottom of his class and was called the “dummy” at school. It was not until his mom stepped in and forced him to read more books and cut his television time that he started to improve his grades. He eventually became the top student in his class. Carson went on to major in psychology at Yale University. He was then admitted to medical school at the University of Michigan.  He completed his residency at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
