Clinton studied at Wellesley College where she majored in political science. At Wellesley, Clinton was the president of the school’s Young Republicans, however she left the group once her political views changed due to the Vietnam War. Clinton was then elected President of the Wellesley College Government Association. During one of her summers, Clinton participated in the Wellesley in Washington Summer Program. At her graduation Clinton gave a commencement address, which was met with high praise and a lengthy standing ovation. Clinton then enrolled at Yale University where she studied law. At Yale she was on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Association she also worked at the Yale Child Study Center. At Yale she met her future husband Bill Clinton with whom she stayed an extra year at Yale to be with. During that extra year she did a postgraduate study on children at the Yale Child Study Center.
